How “leftists” sabotaged the original strategy behind the ‘MAGA Communism’ slogan

In March 2026, Al-Din announced via livestream that “MAGA Communism is dead.”[3] — abandoned at the exact moment its theorists had predicted would be its breakthrough. Asked to explain this sudden reversal by his livestream chat, many of whom devoted considerable energy to the strategy, Al-Din’s only explanation is that it had been “sabotaged by Leftists.”

This is going to be embarrassing for you, but you put “MAGA Communism is dead” in quotations, yet I never said that. Not even once. So why is it in quotations?

I replayed the cited clip about a dozen times to make sure. You have simply gotten too excited by something your biased mind heard, Gigi, but your ears didn’t.

The basic context behind them is in reference to the question: What could we have done to prevent what is happening now? We wanted to influence MAGA in a way that could have, maybe, prevented US politics being as fucked as it is now. Trump was elected in November 2024, leftists propped up Obam… I mean AO… I mean Zohran. Obviously we didn’t prevent anything. I was responding to “leftists” who attempt to tease us about this “failure” of MAGA Communism, who tell us, “what happened to MAGA Communism?”

The MAGA Communist strategy isn’t “dead.”

I made the basic observation that the original strategy didn’t play out as we sought to realize it. In 2022, we set out the goal of becoming a significant force within the MAGA movement, and we didn’t. The reason I claim that leftists sabotaged it is very simple.

On the one hand, we were going up against established MAGA influencers, who we’d be directly competing with for influence and ‘hegemony.’ Lapping them would have been easy, but it would have required all our focus, energy, and concentration.

The phrase ‘MAGA Communism,’ instead, became overwhelmingly defined by the leftist reaction to it. To this day, it is defined by that reaction. Type the phrase ‘MAGA Communism’ on YouTube or Google. Nearly everything is monopolized by asshurt leftists crying and shidding their pants about it. I will write here what I said in that very stream:

By constantly labeling us as ‘fascists,’ leftists actually greatly strengthened the hegemony of actual ‘fascistic’ ideologists within the ‘MAGA’ movement. As Gigi themselves recognizes, we are actually really just Communists. But when our reputation is monopolized by the narrative that we are ‘fascists in a communist disguise,’ all our successes, all our significance, virality, etc. will be given over to actual self-identified fascists.

Not only did liberal leftists sabotage the MAGA Communist strategy, they actively facilitated the growth of the far-right. Many of those who went over to the far-right pipeline, could easily have been put on a Communist path instead, but the Communist position was not represented with any strength or respect. It is a given that liberal-leftists already failed — so when they attribute the success, significance, and virality of MAGA Communists to fascism, all this did was make fascism sound more interesting, lucrative, and powerful to our target audiences.

On the one hand, it cast us as weak — people ‘hiding their power level’ and ‘pretending’ to be ‘mere communists’ because fascism is just ‘too powerful’ to openly identify with. On the other hand, it associated everything that did make us comparatively more compelling, persuasive, interesting with fascism itself. Thus allowing openly identified fascists to reap the rewards of our comparatively superior position. This is not because “fascists” actually had a better message, tactics, or position than us in the eyes of prospective recruits.

It is because liberal “leftists” used all the media resources at their disposal to define our reputation in a way that associated us with fascism. Of course, we were disadvantaged in terms of media reach in comparison to the entire established ‘left,’ which has the entire backing of the Democratic wing of the bourgeoisie at its disposal. We sought to build a movement from the working class, and we were going against both wings of the bourgeois hegemony.

If I must self-criticize, I will self-criticize for having underestimated what disgusting, unprincipled prostitutes the opportunistic liberal ‘leftists’ really were. Maybe the entire time, I implicitly believed in the faint possibility that at the very least, they’d leave us alone and watch curiously at our unprecedented attempt to acquire a new base of support for communistic, even broadly Left-Wing politics. But no. They used everything in their disposal to malign our reputation in a way that only ended up benefitting the proliferation of actual fascist ideas. I anticipate people will point out the ‘cordial’ conversations between MAGA Communists, myself included, and certain Right-Wing personalities. Of course, there are genuine cases of good faith, in the sense that some influencers can in fact be educated to acquire a more correct position. I choose to give people the benefit of the doubt.

But such ‘criticism’ is remiss in that it neglects how the audience is always the target, that when talking to a Rightist influencer, you are not just talking to them but to their audience. To preemptively reject dialogue (where one still remains firm in one’s position) with them on the basis of ideological hostility is to preemptively reject dialogue with their misguided audience for the same reason. A civil exchange of disagreements and ideas with Rightist personalities allows the introduction of communist ideas to mass, proletarian audiences to likewise occur on a civil basis.

Al-Din once called his movement “irreversible” and “historically necessary,” only now to declare its premature demise. How could a few “leftists” have simply sabotaged a cause with such supposed weight?

1. By a “few” leftists, do you mean the entire, DNC-aligned and supported network of leftist influencers, who have millions of combined followers and an absolute discursive monopoly over ‘leftist’ spaces? Search ‘MAGA Communism’ on Google. Is that simply a few “leftists” or an evidently coordinated, organized, methodical attempt to define what people perceive about that term?
2. That MAGA Communism itself was both irreversible and historically necessary does not mean that its original goal — acquire considerable influence over the MAGA movement itself — was guaranteed to be successful.

Do you understand that by January 2024, I had already recognized that this specific goal had become myopic, that following October 7th, 2023, a new, bipartisan subjectivity was emerging which — while taking MAGA’s irreversible transformation of US politics for granted — could no longer strictly be defined as ‘MAGA?’ Trump’s electoral victory in 2024 proved that MAGA itself had become superfluous — all politics in America, knowingly or unknowingly, whether for or against Trump, was a form of MAGA politics.

Throughout the year 2024, this had consistently been my position: We are all MAGA now. So why did you write this article now, rather than then, if that is supposed to entail that ‘MAGA Communism is dead?’

On June 28th, 2024, I said:

The MAGA movement anticipated the political consolidation of supply chains, sovereign industrial policy, and a new, digital form of illiberal popular sovereignty.

Its historical significance is nearing completion, as it already increasingly defines the norm of American politics.

Following Trump’s election I repeated what I had written in a post cited by Gigi themselves: that pre-MAGA politics simply doesn’t exist anymore, and will never return:

Trump was never going to save anyone. MAGA already rreversibly changed American politics. The fight for MAGA ended when even the Democrats started copying it.

MAGA won. This is neither good or bad, it’s just objective fact. It simply cemented it’s foothold irreversibly.

There is no going back to “normal democracy,” (neoliberalism) based on the rule of expert consensus, human rights, and trust in institutions.

Obviously, it would have been preferable to actually directly influence and affect the ‘MAGA movement’ by intensifying its contradictions to the point of cultivating a mass base for a Communist movement from late 2022–early 2024.

It was one thing that we not only lacked an organization to actually do this but simultaneously continued pursuing the 2036 strategy within the CPUSA. For those unfamiliar, Infrared followers were encouraged to join the CPUSA and conceal their ‘forbidden’ views for the purpose of building up the Communist Party and doing everything possible to facilitate its restoration in a new age. The idea was that once the Party was divorced from the Democrats, it could begin mobilizing for the purpose of reaching a new social base.

The CPUSA had not planned to hold its National Convention until summer 2024 — having delayed it by a year. From the period of 2022–2024, those receptive to the ‘MAGA Communist’ strategy did not have an organization whatsoever. The focus was thus independently developing this new dialogue, encounter, etc. doing everything to cultivate a new type of consciousness with true Iskraist-viral (not simply in the online sense, but to use real viruses as an analogy) potential, while patiently holding out and waiting for the CPUSA’s next National Convention to adopt the strategy organizationally.

Firstly, this was directly sabotaged. The meaning of MAGA Communism was overwhelmingly shaped and defined by ‘leftists’ reacting to it. Between 2022-2024, MAGA Communism absolutely became a successful meme. But since the goal was firstly establishing a new consciousness, based in a radically new openness to the undecidability of praxis, being a remarkable meme, signifier, etc. was not enough. It got people’s attention, stirred their imagination, and definitely affected their perceptions, but we simply stood no chance in terms of competing with institutionally-advantaged ‘leftist’ influencers in terms of how it’s made sense of or understood by consciousness.

A barrage of YouTube ‘video essays,’ hit pieces, and suspiciously mega-viral tweets completely monopolized this crucial, secondary register of understanding. It’s not that we lacked qualitatively superior material: We were simply outmatched by sheer volume. It ironically proves just how much potential existed in the MAGA Communism ‘meme’ — in the very, overwhelmingly disproportionate ‘leftist’ reaction to it. It simply went too viral for us to have any control over how it would actually be understood or defined.

Secondly, there was a profound lack of synchronicity between the development and evolution of the MAGA movement (under Biden) and the internal development of the CPUSA itself. By the time of the National Convention in Summer 2024, the evolution of ‘MAGA’ changed considerably. Trump’s presidential campaign was in full-swing, and ‘MAGA’ had been diluted by the traditional Republican establishment which fully coalesced around Trump. ‘MAGA’ had simultaneously been diluted in another, more progressive sense: the lines between it and a rising, militantly pro-Palestinian consciousness among young liberals were beginning to be blurred.

Anti-Zionism increasingly became the primary contradiction around which all the ‘progressive’ anti-establishment tendencies within MAGA could be drawn out. These tendencies, however, were shared with disgruntled liberals, radicalized by the absolute moral failure of the Biden administration amidst the Gaza genocide. Younger generations, suffering similar material grievances as the original “MAGA” base in 2015, only without any illusions of being able to restore a lost past, likewise began to radicalize in ways that could not even be rationalized by conventional political distinctions, including MAGA itself! Pre-MAGA respectability politics was dead, and this was taken for granted.

But post-MAGA skepticism of institutions, ‘conspiracism,’ radical distrust of conventional politics, political incorrectness — all of this began to transcend the narrow confines of what was before called ‘MAGA’ itself and ubiquitously define an entire new generation of consciousness. In this strict sense, MAGA did not ‘die’ — it was sublated in the truest dialectical sense of the term.

One could argue that the American Communist Party launched too late. This is too uncharitable to history itself, which really did vindicate MAGA Communism in ways no voluntary efforts on our part could possibly have:

MAGA itself was sublated, and a new generation was taking shape that absolutely took for granted all the aspects that gave MAGA revolutionary potential while moving beyond its constraints (illusions regarding Trump, embedded in duopoly politics, nostalgia).

While Gigi reduces all of this to ‘Tucker Carlson’ and ‘Nick Fuentes,’ this ignores just how blurred the divisions have become between a Tucker viewer and TikTok leftist. A radical new axis of polarization is taking shape which simply outmodes that between Democrat liberals and Republican conservatives. MAGA Communism is now being fulfilled in ways that we MAGA Communists could not have even imagined.

Now the American Communist Party can work easily with a popular raw material we couldn’t have even dreamed of before. By being good, patient Communists, waiting for the proper formal and procedural justification for reconstituting the Party according to Party logic and law itself, history rewarded us by saving us time. We don’t need to convince MAGA to abandon their hopes in Trump, break from the duopoly, etc. anymore, while simultaneously preserving their rejection of the Democratic Party, NATO, etc. This has simply become the premise of all inceptual forms of politics now. So much time and energy has simply been saved.

So, is MAGA Communism dead? No, it’s simply too alive to be called that anymore. Only our specific strategy to realize MAGA Communism failed. It turns out the superior strategy was:

Do nothing, and win.
